Existem algumas pessoas inocentes que não vêem forma da religião influenciar a política. Afinal de contas, em um regime democrático (mesmo considerando que muita porcaria é assim chamada hoje em dia) os conflitos e decisões são subordinadas ao colarinho branco e seus arranjos.

Porém, quando um clero passa a influenciar setores que, na prática, possuem o poder de fato, o quadro fica feio. A democracia em questão é Israel, e a situação controversa é:

Uma forte polêmica agita o Exército israelense desde que os soldados religiosos manifestaram sua intenção de desobedecer as ordens superiores em caso de evacuação das colônias judias da Cisjordânia.
A hierarquia do Tsahal (Exército), preocupada com esta situação, pediu aos rabinos, diretores de escolas talmúdicas que enviam seus alunos para o exército, que condenem publicamente esses soldados. De acordo com o general Tzvi Zamir, diretor de recursos humanos do Tsahal, alguns rabinos incitam seus jovens discípulos a desobedecer as ordens contrárias a sua fé.
A controvérsia surgiu depois que quatro soldados que exibiam cartazes hostis às operações de evacuação das colônias judias ilegais da Cisjordânia foram condenados a penas de prisão. Outros foram punidos por seus superiores. (publicado no site da VEJA. Link para reportagem completa).

É extremamente desagradável um Estado ser controlado e ter seus interesses direcionados à questões religiosas, como acontece em Israel (e aqui eu não absolvo Irã, Hamas ou qualquer entidade que utilize a religião como artefato para política, antes que críticos hipócritas utilizem a retórica antiga). Há uma diferença em relação aos outros, a de que Israel conclama ao mundo suas posições democráticas e alinhadas com o ocidente.

Esse tipo de resistência de ortodoxos que, transborda os limites da hierarquia militar é extremamente preocupante, uma vez que ordens de Estado podem ser desobedecidas por quem possui armas. Desobediencia civil propositada e localizada é uma coisa, organização militar que tornar-se-á ilegal (paramilitar) em resistência e desobediência à uma ordem explícita e oficial, tanto política quanto hierarquicamente superior, é um caso grave e problemático, que vai mobilizar e movimentar a opinião pública israelense em seu devido tempo.

É cada vez mais inevitável a criação de um Estado Palestino formalizado e reconhecido pela ONU. Os israelenses terão que abandonar terras que roubaram em acampamentos ilegais e serão obrigados a conviver com os vizinhos. Se os soldados mais alinhados com os Rabinos ortodoxos iniciarem sua guerra santa contra os muçulmanos palestinos, dará-se a desgraça.

Toda retórica israelense irá por água abaixo se esse pequeno grupo tornar-se forte.
